Thank you - we do play many many different periods and scales :)

I noticed you saying 'just getting started' previously, and knew you could pick up some black cloth fairly easily, so didn't press it. As I said, you are doing QUITE well.

Thank you - we are still drooling over the GeoHex mats, but we will probably end at about £100 for mat,P&P and VAT so it will most likely be some simple black cloth with a toothbrush job applied to it..

You might try the blue, though, especially if it's moderately deep blue; however, Napoleonic is equally at home on gray water, given the often atrocious weather they fought through... ;->=

Hmm well in many ways the nap. guys are the ones who wins out in the terrain department (it is still the core period allthough we have a strong WW2 department as well.) And we DO have the blue boards already so.. ;)

While I'm extremely fond of the felt (felt-like?) mats that Geo-Hex put out, and have a couple, you can do amazing things with simple black cloth and just splattering and dripping 'day glo' paint. But, we've had that discussion plenty in the past.

Hehe I am not surprised :)
