I could see a design like this being useful for research and
scientific mission. But for combat scouting, if you're going to the
trouble of having a specialist scouting vehicle, wouldn't it make more
sense to have a lighter, faster chassis also?
Of course a modular, reconfigurable vehicle makes all kinds of sense,
especially for the marine contingent of a combat ship.
It depends on the setting, but for a scout, I'd recommend the HEL.
