Re: Ship Names

I don't paint the names on the ships, for the same reason others tend 
not to. I have throught of printing up "slipcovers" for bases, however, 
basically washer-shapes of high quality paper with a slit through the 
circle to allow it to fit around the post of a standard base. The 
circle is black with the ship name - and or other designators- in white 
or color. It has to be small enough to not block the clock-facings. 
Haven't done it yet, but shouldn't be too hard. You could even make 
covers that you always keep with a given mini to list kills and deaths.

I'm a big Culture name style fan myself. If I get to choose my ships in 
PBeM's or FTJava and I'm not trying to be historical, I usually go for 
them. My current fleet (being dismantled by Tomb in FTJava, 
unfortunately ) is an example:
