For Real - you probably qualify, or could if you worked at it.

On TV - it depends on how you look, not how you think. Those that know
something
about warfare are loath to comment too much, as they know how easily
they can look
like horse's arses due to the fog of war. They give it their best shot,
based on
very low amounts of data, and they sometimes get it wrong. Those who
know nothing
are invincibly secure in their ignorance, so can spout the most
egregious claptrap
and get away with it.
Hence US Marine Corps M1A1s get described as British Royal Marine
Challengers with
155mm guns.
