Just as a general bit of praise and, as I've mentioned it to Roger
privately, I am a big DBx fan (been an umpire and have contributed to
the
lists AND the rules - look for "Tim Moyse" (a long story)) BUT for C18
stuff I've found Principles of War absolutely brilliant. They take DBx
large base sizes and push them a bit further (9cm*4cm for irregular
"Civilisation meets India" situations) and end up giving a really
_enjoyable_ game without the rules-layerish aspects of DBx. Whilst I
haven't played the Piks-and-Shot era I can see them working very well.

Just for info, especially as I'm hoping to playtest the ancient versioun
of
the rules.

The big question really is, how do you adapt them to SG/DS vs C15/C16
primitives (Janisseries!). . . . ;-)
