G'day again,

And while we're at it, here's some ideas I've had for Avalon Inc
Weaponry. I
haven't tried them out as yet and I haven't tried to cost them so feel
free
to let rip ;)

And if anyone can think of some suitable medieval/ king arthurish names
for
the different systems (probably better than my efforts) please feel free
to
put them forward ;)

CHAMFRON SCREENS

These energy screens work using the sample principles as the
energy-field
generators used to protect stellar assets. They give some measure of
protection against direct fire, missiles and infantry attacks. It is
possible to use these screens with ablative armour, but the way they
function means that reactive armour becomes dangerous to use and the
coruscating colours and high-energy signature of the screens mean they
nullify all forms of stealth. The functioning of the screens also makes
it
impossible for infantry to climb on board or touch any vehicle (or power
armour) that has an active screen.

Against MISSILES and incoming DIRECT FIRE of ALL kinds these screens
provide
an EXTRA TARGET DIE, based on the screen rating.

BASIC	 D4
ENHANCED D6
SUPERIOR D8

Energy screens CANNOT be used with STEALTH or REACTIVE ARMOR, but they
can
be used with ablative armour.

Power armour infantry using energy screens are treated as being in SOFT
COVER at all times.

ALGARRADA MISSILES

Excalibur Designs, the military R&D branch of Avalon Inc, has developed
a
warhead transmits an intense burst of electromagnetic energy on contact
with
the target. These warheads are fitted to GMS. Their main destructive
potential matches that of standard GMS warheads, but even marginal hits
on
target can see the target vehicle's systems fried. 

Use the same RANGE and valid DAMAGE chits as STANDARD GMS, except that
all
SPECIALS (other than a BOOM chit, which remains a BOOM) count as TARGET
SYSTEMS DOWN.

????? EMP MUNITIONS

A product of Excalibur Designs, the military R&D branch of Avalon Inc,
the
EMP bomb releases an intense electromagnetic shockwave (pulse) on
detonation. The warhead uses a sweeping frequency, circularly polarised
design to maximise the efficiency of the pulse. Due to the size of the
components, the delivery systems need to be large, as a result only
HEAVY
ARTILLERY or aerospace DFO can use EMP munitions. 

When an EMP round is delivered to a point of impact all units within its
Beaten Zone, except for LINE and MILITIA infantry, must draw chits
(using
the following table) to assess the effects of the pulse:

All SPECIAL chits are also valid, but all except the BOOM chit count as
TARGET SYSTEMS DOWN. 

Note that EMP Bombs are non-lethal and all vehicles and Power Armour
"damaged" or "destroyed" by these munitions are intact they're
electronics
have just been destroyed. LINE and MILITIA infantry are unaffected by
EMP
munitions

GUSICARD PARTICLE CANNONS

Adapted from the technology used as the foundation of astro-particle
beam
batteries, these particle cannons are a formidable new direct fire
weapon
that is standard on all Avalon Inc. vehicles. While these weapons
outrange
most of the conventional weapons of the same size, they do not have the
range of combat lasers, as the particles are degraded more quickly by
interactions with the atmosphere. In combination with they're longer
ranges
these weapons also have a respectable punch.

At CLOSE range: All chits (at face values)

Against INFANTRY targets: YELLOW chits only
Against ABLATIVE armour: Treat as one range band further away. If
already at
long range then YELLOW chits, but at HALF VALUE.

These Cannons are NOT effective against INFANTRY at LONG range.
