It is canon that they are cannons.  The Plasma Gun in
the back of the SGII book is Sturmkanone abbreviated
SK.  So the question is, what sounds best as a term
for a somewhat lighter, more rapid firing version of
that weapon?  SfSK?  Or ASK?
