John, you have just discovered the sport of FOOTBALL. A sport played
using a
BALL and your FOOT, played before your country was created, and doesn`t
require bodyarmour (although some of the teams could use it) and a pause
every 5 mins for the minimal attention spans of the veiwers.

BIF
(american football is NOT football)

The really funny part of this right here where I live. I live on the
Texas-Mexico border, not more than 5 miles from Mexico. There was a lot
of excitement here about the game, and stores were selling out of team
apparel and souveniers, Team Mexico items only. Most of the population
(90 plus percent) here is either Mexican-American or Mexican nationals
living in the US (in various stages of legality). The pre-game attitude
was HEAVILY in favor of a Mexican win. After the game, the silence was
almost deafening... Until the various conspiracy theories started. The
best ones have been that the US bribed the judges, Mexico threw the game
to pay the US back for an outstanding treaty water debt, or that the US
bought out all the best coaches so that the Mexican team ws inadequately
coached. I like the bribery one the best...lol
