Hmm, I'd probably leave just about everything out (as Beth points to as
well). Sticking to one squad quality(regular) all over spicing it with a

green and veteran a side. That should give a good impression of how the
troop quality relates to each other.

The same thing goes for weapons (no comments on the FP values here) all
troops carry the same type of weapon and only give a SAW to the squads.

All other stuff can be added later one thing add a time and with no
trouble
if you have the basics in place first. And though this aproach might
seem to
be boring "basic" games without all the fancy hardware often ends up
beeing
real good games in all their simplicity. (actually when I started
playing
warzone we had a lot of hardware etc - in the end we went for huge
battles
with 98% grunts and the occasional HMG team. Much more fun (but with 3
actions per mini per turn you can get a s**tload of bullets flying
across
the battlefield - something you definately don't want to stick your head
out
to watch when you are hiding in the trench :-))

Well before I trail off in memories of lost and won battles in warzone
I'll
stop here with - Keep it simple - it WILL be funny any way!

Happy gaming!

I can add that one : http://home.att.net/~agoodall/sg2/sg2.html
