Trouble is, your own recce can't find them
- You have used a mountain/jungle/swamp/desert to cover part of your
front
because you think it's impassable. The enemy thinks otherwise.
- You have successfully occupied your landing zone and want to move to
your
real objective. Your route leads over some rugged terrain and you never
thought the enemy would think of occupying it. The enemy is smarter than
that.
- The contemptible colonial militia you could easily ovrerun with your
elite
professional troops is rather better equipped than expected, trained and
led
than you expected and knows how to make use of the local terrain.
