Subject: Andromeda and other High Guard ships comparison

Comparing the firepower of the top three High Guard classes:

ELS tubes:

Andromeda: 40
DSA: 60
GDF: 40

So the DSA can actually put up more missile throw weight, and assuming a
standard magazine size per tube, the DSA has 50% more missile firepower.

Laser turrets:

Andromeda: 12 50Mw PDL turrets
DSA: 8 35Mw PDL turrets
GDF: 12 50MW PDL turrets

It appears that the GDF, a frigate, has as much close-in laser firepower
as the Andromeda, which implies that the Andromeda is fitted out for
more close-in work than a DSA (fewer missile tubes, more defense
lasers). I'm assuming the PDL stands for Point Defense Laser and would
translate to PDS's. Not sure about the difference between 35Mw and 50Mw
though. (old system PDAF vs ADAF?)

AP turrets:

Andromeda: 8
DSA: 4
GDF: 3

A note the AP cannon seem to be the standard armament of the fighters
(perhaps a c-batt?)

Other weapons:

The GDF is equipped with 2 500Mw X-ray laser turrets, although the
description of the frigate seems to imply that these are not considered
"heavy" weaponry. Perhaps they can be considered B-batt's?

The big edge that Andromeda has is the ability to do everything -
planetary bombardment, carry strike, tactical and aerospace fighters,
long range firepower, close in point defense. The other two classes
seem a bit more specialized.
