I'm not sure about the "Magic Wash", but I've been using the "Miracle
Dip" for my ancients minis.  This is the Minwax polyurethane finish that
does both wash and seal at the same time.  For this particular method,
you don't need to add water at all, and can just dip the figure into the
can.
