Something to think on, in the Bolo books it refers to a dedicated
transport bigger than a battlecruiser that also had atmospheric
capabilities. The Bolo could also fire its main weapons while locked
into its carrier. That could give the give some interesting twists,
especially if the opposing team didnt know what you had other than large
transports.
