I have been playing full thrust for just over a year now on and off, and
have only just joined this mailing list.
After looking over the rules for aces in More thrust (thanks to the GZG
who
put it up on the web), is there anything done on Special Duties Fighter
Squadrons?

I.E. those squadrons assembled basicially of all aces, and trained for a
single mission.
Similar to 617 squadron during WW2, where a entire squadron of elite
pilots
and aircrew were assembled and trained for a single attack (The
Dambusters).

I think such special duties squadrons would perform better than an ace
in a
squadron, but only for a predefined mission (Sink the Tirpritz, Cripple
the
stations shields, Blow up the Death Star etc), and be reduced to a
normal
ACE squadron for normal operations.

What does everyone out there think of the idea, and anyone got some
rules
ideas?
Double the number of rolls, or allow each fighter to roll twice and
choose
the best result etc?

Of course I can only think that these squadrons should only be used in a
campaign, or in a predefined scenario as they could be a bit
overbalanced if
just pulled out of a hat.
