Soliciting some suggestions from the list ubermensch/intelligentsia:

Queries:
1) Effects of (both hand and rifle) grenades in low-G, Zero Atm. (both
frag and explosive). Do they work? Can you generate a concussion wave?
Are fragments likely to be dangerous further away? Are characters going
to be blown over/around (suppression) by any explosive force? Can people
throw further? How will this affect bounces? How will it
affect accuracy?

Frag should be effective over a larger area than in an atmosphere,
normal
gravity. Cuncussion would be much less effective (no pressure wave, but
still subject to any shrapnel). Any force acting on the bodies would
still
transfer the inertia from the moving object (sharpnel) to the body, and
the
body would still have standing inertia, but any movement from knockback
would be much greater (as low-g would pull the body to the surface much
less).

2) Effects of low-G, no-atmosphere on:

Gauss Rifle/Gauss Pistol/Gauss SAW
- Both firer and target would be subject to greater knockback. The firer
would have to be especially braced to fire (otherwise, he might generate
enough force to shoot himself off the asteroid).

Laser Rifle/Carbine
- May be less effective as vaporized particles of the target (armor,
skin,
etc.) would not disapate as quickly. However, the heat from these may
also
burn the target more, so it may be a tradeoff.

Tac Missile Launcher (GMS/P)
- It would either have to be built with vectored jets (much more
expensive)
or be unguided. It would also have a lot of kickback to the person
firing it
(backwash from the missile engine).

Plasma Gun (Man-portable)
- Greater range and/or more power at greater range. I do not remember if
PIGs decrease in leathality as DFFGs do in DS2. If they do, then the
effect
would be less (as little/no atmosphere to disapate the plasma).

3) Effects of environment on movement - faster, slower, easier, more
treacherous?
- You could go faster, _but_ moving faster than 1/2 speed may provide a
chance to push off from the asteroid (depends on how much gravity there
is).
Also, if moving fast, there is more chance to tear a suit.

4) Effects of environment on wound resolution (if any) - automatic
sealing is present, but is there still an increased chance of an
over-large puncture causing death? How would you change things? Wounds
more severe? Or not?
- More severe (psychologically if not otherwise). But it may be easier
to
evacuate wounded (weight is less, even if mass/inertia is not).
