TOMB, accordingto my handy dandy second edition JANE'S GUNS RECOGNITION
GUIDE BY IAN HOGG,
page 96, that RCMP pistol must be the S&W SIGMA .40 caliber, also made
in 9mm and 9mm short cartridge models..

"no manual safety catch, all safety bing automatic safety device built
into the trigger, and there is also an automatic firing pin safety
system such that the firing pin cannot move unless the trigger is
fully pulled through,"

my three all time favorite "old" self -loading / automatic pistols
are the Colt M1911 series, the Browning Hi-power series and the Walther
P-38 series.

two, the Colt and Walther i used in actual combat and combat field
conditions.

an updated double action auto pistol in caliber .45 ACP with large
caacity magazine would be my first choice for a combat pistol, as the
9mm Parabellum is too light with military jacket rounds (ie, lacking in
brute power).

all eight 9mm rounds hit the torso of an enemy soldier before he became
dead where as old slabsides worked nearly everytime with 1 or 2 torso
hits. all shooting was at short ranges with instinctive point/shoot
firing.

i have no experience with the civilian style 9mm ammo, or any of the new
autopistol calibers such as .40, 10mm or 11mm.

i do have experience with .45 ACP in civilian law enforcement, and like
it best still over .38 Super, .38 Special, .357 Magmum or 41 Magnum
caliber weapons.

back to somalia for another humanitarian run? now the somalies want
us-i mean our money-back in country?

noway!

they would turn blue from lack of air before i sent 1 dollar USA or 1
soldier USA back to that pesthole.
