In Rot Hafen  there is a squadron of Pterodactyl-D aerospace attack
fighters
that are supporting the ground force. The Pterodactyl's do have
interface
(or aerospace) capabilities. However the aerospace module requires
carrying
of less payload. It is a VTOL fighter attack aircraft, single seat,
capable
of operating from forward unimproved fields (while carrying a higher
payload
than if ut was launched from orbit.) It carries about 10 tons of a2g
stores
in internal and external hardpoints not including the internal RFAC and
internal bays for A2A stores. I think the premise it it'll probably be a
little cheaper to have ground based aircraft if you can swing the
logistics
and security end of things.
