Are you sure they weren't the FT1104 or 1104A  UNSC Patrol Cutters
(Frigates)? Those are single-piece (though the 1104A hull will accept a
DD
engine unit to make a good DDH!), but the 1105 DDs are three parts
(forward
hull, engine, weapon mount).
