I can only blame that Bastard, Stencherous Womb escapee Bill Gates and
his
band of cutthroats at Microsoft for screwing up my settings on Hotmail.
My apologies! Now that I know what to fix it is easy to go back. Not
sure
what caused them to revert to RTF other than to say WTF!

I have read/heard stories of the people assigned to the DEW line in far
northern Canada standing in front of the big radar antenna for a moment
to
warm up... (DEW was/is the Distant Early Warning radar line, set up to
warn of Russkie bombers/missles coming over the pole, back before the
Russians let all their missles rust.)
Slightly cooked radar crew, coming up...

We're talking about Microsoft here, remember. Does an MS program
actually
need a *reason* to screw up?

Okay, for those of you that may have been trying to look up a few things
=
I have on my site, try again--it is back up. I've added an after-action
=
reports page and some DS2 scenarios and taken out a few things (don't =
worry, the stuff I've taken out should be showing up on geocities pretty
=
soon, along with some new stuff).
Oh yes, the address...
http://rwhofrichter.webprovider.com
Among other things, you'll find this stuff there:
DS2 scenarios (as mentioned above) and new weapons.
SG2 Kra'Vak write up.
FT2 scenario and graphic ship designs for various forces.
Background material (DS2, SG2, and FT2) for Far Stars Union
Background material and organizations (SG2, DS2) for various Sci-fi =
backgrounds and a mercenary unit (Koslowski's Hussars).
Enjoy.

Evening folks,
Alan - once again, thanks for the great work on the SG index. Excellent
idea, and should be a great tool during games.
I'm off visiting the family out in the wilds of Alberta (well, the city
of
Calgary, which has nearly a million people and is hardly wild...) for
the
Christmas holidays. In the balmy -30C weather, I'll be thinking of
those
happy list members in the southern US and Australia, blissful in their
warm
environment....
but I won't be online much, and so I'm unsubbing for the duration.
I wish you all a happy holiday season (whether it be Christmas or
whatever), and all the best for the new year.
2001. The year of HAL9000... but a dream that was when I was a
young'un... and here we are, not quite at that point yet, but getting
closer. Be nice if they fly the shuttle to the new Space Station to the
Blue Danube....
All the best, and "see" you in the new year!

I finish work for Xmas today (the result of being too busy during the
rest of the year to use up all my leave !) so I'm signing off the list
for the holiday.
If anyone needs to contact me concerning Brigade business (or anything
else) then I can still be reached at <tony@brigademodels.co.uk).
Merry Xmas
Tony

I agree with Oerjan, it is a little too powerful for the mass/cost.
Also the 30-36 range would be OK as it uses beam dice, and therefore,
may fail to inflict damage.
PSB:
Guided Plasma Torpedo.
The GPT is an outgrowth of the Pulse-Torpedo and studies of recovered
Phalon wreckage. The GPT fires a magnetically contained plasma
reaction with minimal thrusters and guidance. As with the Pulse Torpedo,
the projectile is much faster than missiles, and this provides both
positive and negative aspects to the weapon. Because the contained
plasma charge is directed, it provides a greater ability to damage the
target at close range and increases the range to 3600km. But because
the projectile is so fast, the guidance thrusters are less efficient
(have
less time to make adjustments) at ranges under 1800km. Also, the
plasma reaction is self-feeding and therefore damage potential
decreases during flight time. These interesting combination of features
provides a unique potential damage curve.
