Other Starship Troopers bug designs, especially those in the TV series
- hmm.. on a related subject, how about transport bugs in FT scale (for
a different breed of bio-ship).

Galoob sets 1 and 3 are showing fairly often in toy remainderers, such
as
Toy Liquidators. Good hoppers and chariots (lil guys carrying brain bugs
in
the movie) roughly SGII size. The brain bug in the three-pack is WAY
small.
I just wish the #2 with the warrior was showing up. *sigh*

I recently played a way-modified Aliens board game that used Galoob SST
figs, tan hex map, and rules for the bugs to accumulate damage 'tween
turns, as well as carrying over aiming by the gyrines. Didn't work
entirely
for moi, but it WAS a damn good time.

The transport bug's another story. It's knobby, semi-streamlined body is
tough; I'm thinking something weird like a well-trimmed toy
Godzilla(Matthew Broderick version) head or some torso from a skeleton
toy,
but nothing really close comes to mind immediately.

Shadows from Babylon 5 (I'd expect Harlequin to do these, but have seen
no sign as yet).
***

These are roughly mantis-shaped, right? I'll have to look back at the
old
shows, but I think praying mantis (plural mantii?) toys would be a good
start.

***
Or other things of this ilk?

Ral Partha has some large insectoids that I think were for the Shadowrun
RPG. I was going to order some and have a look. GW, but especially
Reaper,
have giant scorpions. Reaper's is incredibly beautiful, even in the
package, though I've never tried to put it together yet. ;->=

Superior had some humanoids-with-fly-heads for their insect race, but
those
are DAMN hard to find. ;->=

I've a question to the longtime SGII fans who've bought from GeoHex. As
I
am going in for light surgery on Monday, and will be homebound for a
couple
of weeks or so, I was looking though my dusty stash to get a count and
maybe (gasps from long time friends) attempt some painting. I've several
non-power-specific blisters, and wondered if the designs were
incorporated
in any particular armies.

Sorry, don't have them handy, but if you have suggestions on how to
figure
it out...

Also, I have a b**tload of Japanese SAW & missle packs. Weird how some
things accumulate over the course of trades and grab-bag purchases. So,
if
there's anyone in the US interested in swapping for some of these, let
me
know. Please offer most anything else to round out my SGII troops,
including other Japanese, or anything to brighten the heart of an
airless
head like me.

However, let me offer this as fair warning: If we've been discussing
trades
recently, or you make the above reply, expect delays from me. I'm pretty
certain I'm on the waiting end of most of these, some for a LONG time,
but
I'm not a space cadet for naught!

This weekend, I'm attending NukeCon in Omaha; then, I'll be low and
slow. ;
