I got in some trouble with some local players because I wouldn't
necessarily start the game oriented to a table 'side'. Seemed too
confining.

On the other hand, I quickly realized how useful it would be, and fair
to
fellow players eyeballing the correctness of your moves. It's not a
house
rule, but most folks seem to follow it instinctively.

In the end, like Paul, I thought everybody did this. ;->=

Anyway, enough me-too-isms. Are there dissenting voices (with reasoned
