Sorry, I was thinking of detecting the ships at first, while
they're building up that 4000mu velocity. After that, you'd
have a fair idea where to look for the missiles.
Not that I would want to plan a defense system to deal with
high-v attacks--covering the volume might be a tad
expensive--but I think part of the difficulty you're seeing
comes from combining the game limits with the reality limits.
However....I'd better not argue too convincingly because I don't
want the bother of calculating missile vectors either.
