	Just a quick note (a more detailed reply is in preparation), but
I seem
to recall something called "FLIR" (forward-looking infrared radar) which
(IIRC) was used by fighters for targetting purposes. If this is in fact
the case, infrared is being used in an active mode, and may thus be
detected.
