I'm a big fan of anywhere within 6" of the launching ship. Simple.

I don't care for this. It doesn't jibe well with the rest of the fighter
rules.

No. Fighters are launched during ship movement, after the fighter
movement
phase, though they could, in theory, use an endurance point to receive
their secondary move.
