The bi-pods, tripods, longer heavier barrels, better sights and tactical

imperatives for putting the sqad assault weapon in the hands of him who
is 
most likely to actually pull the trigger in combat makes it the primary 
killer in platoon actions. It always has been back to the BAR, Bren and
Lewis 
guns. The rifle is for personal defense and up close work.
