Among the scenarios I've run that I've enjoyed have been:

Demo Guard:  You've got an infantry company standing guard while the
Engineers rig the bridge to drop like a rock.  What's that noise coming
down the highway?  Sounds like diesel engines to me. . . 
PAD Site:  You can't take it out from orbit, it's on a small island, and
the defenders are dug in with minefields  and so forth.  Take it out
with grav, amphibious assault, or both.
Delay:	Recon unit set up in depth, mission is to slow and hurt the
enemy, but without allowing yourself to be destroyed.
