An interesting example that really shows that 9mm penetrates but
doesn't
stop people as well as the .45, which doesn't penetrate well, but does
stop
people. The 9mm went through three layers which indicates good
penetration.
The .45 went through the first layer and fragmented which indicates good
stopping power as the round stays in the target and doesn't go through.

Too true! But if you are being shot at, wear armour and hope the
opposition is using .45, not 9mm pistol ammunition
