Y'know, these Nea Rhomaioi bear a distinct resemblance the a
particularly
nasty bunch called the Draka, from some of my favorite 'alternate
histories'. I *like* that <big ol' toothy grin>.

I havn't really looked at the starmap in great detail, but they've had
wars with the Romanov Hegemony (finally settled with an abject
surrender on the Romanov part after the Tsar had a stroke. The RH lost
a pair of planets in disputed space), the Islamic Federation (life-long
enemies), the FSE (They snapped up several other worlds in FSE space
during the confusion when the EC broke up, the FSE wants them back),
and on occasion, has border disputes with the ESU on a planet
containing both a Rhomaioi colony (Nea Cherson) and an ESU one. Good
relations with the Scandanavian Federation, and deals with the NAC on
an enemy-of-my-enemy basis.
