Killing Infantry

Subject: Killing Infantry

Hello,
After further analysis this is the current chart I would use for
the
integration of anti-infantry weapons from StarGrunt and DirtSide. The
SAW
is the free weapon that vehicles get when they are built. The FP for
the
MMG and HMG are two actual dice and are counted seperately for the
effect
on infantry (Green gunner rolls 1D6 plus 2D8, if any one die beat the
defender then the defending unit is suppressed, if two of the three
dice,
then there are potential casualties). This represents the true volume
of
firepower being thrown at the enemy. RFAC and Gauss Auto Cannons use
their
Fire-Control systems in place of a FP die. Therefore, they roll the
crew
quality die and the Fire Control Die. Pintel mounted weapons
(specifically
SAWs on vehicles) and In Position SAWs gain a +1 die shift when fired
but
use the range band of the guy firing them. MMGs, HMGs, RFACs and GACs
must be either internally mounted in vehicles or be crew served (takes a
turn to set up) and have a Range Band of 12 inches. DirtSide ranges
below
are listed for use against infantry.
RFAC/2 or GAC/2 would draw the same number of chits in DirtSide (3).
Weapon	StarGrunt: FP	DMG	DirtSide:	Range chit Draw Cost
Space
SAW D8	D10 8 inches
       3 4 1/free
MMG 2D6	D10 10
inches 3 8 1
HMG 2D8	D12 12
inches 4 10 2
RFAC/1 F/C	D10 12 inches
3	15+F/C 3
GAC/2 F/C	D12 14
inches 3 16+F/C 3

A M-60 machine gun would be a SAW. A 50 caliber machine gun
would be a
MMG while a 40mm GAU would be a HMG....

Gort, Klaatu barada nikto!
