Yup. I used Japanese ship destroyer names for the names of the
destroyers in
my Age of Iridium PBEM game back in 1996. My favourite was the Sazanami,
which
means, "Curling Waves (ripples)" or "Pretty, Small Waves Raised by a
Zephyr."
