Well, that all depends on how you play them.  I often try to have some
ADAF
in my forces and keep them near my fleet groups (I tend to fly in
formations, which is inviting wave gun attacks I know).  This gives me a
little more defense against them.  You can also load up on C-bats and
PDAFs
and hope for the best.

Another option is to allow fighters to intercept them as per the *DAF
rules.
Each fighter rolls a D6 and on a 6 kills the missile.

Yet another option is to thump the player(s) using heaps of missiles and
walk away.  Unfortunately this is illegal in most countries.  Makes you
feel
better sometimes though. ;-)

The last option is to just eject in the life pods and hope you don't get
caught in the blast.  The safest option I think.
