I don't think its possible to put a Slam 5 on a size 3 vehicle. Sure
size
5 weapon x3 is 15, but the max permissable weapon is supposed to be one
size larger than the class. So on your size 3 tank you could mount a
size
4 Slam and have 3 space points left over for aux systems.
One rolls once for a given shot. Got three RFAC 2s linked, roll once,
pull
2 chits three times. One can only fire like weapons at the same time.
As far as multiple weapon mounts go, Go for the largest gun possible.
You
generally want to get a big group of chits. The main benefit of a
smaller
weapon in multiple mounts works like this:
I have a class 4 Slam Carrier. It has 2 size 4 Slams. If I had once size
5
Slam, I could draw 5 chits versus a target's armour. (assume I'm
shooting
a big tank) With the two size 4 Slams, I get to draw 4 chits twice.
Total
8 chances to pick a boom. Thats a good trade off. However there is a law
of diminishing returns by trying this with three Slam 3's. There I only
get 9 tries, but in three groups of three. Not decent odds to get some
big
reds and yellows to bust the armour.
The only time you get to add the pulls for chits is with DFO's and
infantry firefights/APSWs.
