And the bigger the "Divine Coordination" oddness gets. *That's* my main 
beef with the vanilla system.

But I haven't found simultaneous fire any slower -- actually it plays
out
FASTER, because:

- No need to roll thresholds for destroyed ships
- Everyone can make their threshold rolls at the same time
- No time wasted in "gamey" calculations which ship to shoot first
- No arguments
- No "Divine Coordination"
- No "gamey" tactics (e.g. from BTech: "I 'move' this unit that's too
far 
from the action and crippled anyway -- it stays put. Your move.")
