Subject: SGII ALIEN BIOTECH RULES
Here's some stuff I'm working on...
Alien Biotech Force Rules for Stargrunt II
These rules are for use by players wishing to add Biomechanical alien
forces to the Stargrunt II universe. In this case, it is my intent to
use Kryomek figures including Bio-tanks.
Squad types:
Biomech forces tend to use homogeneous squads in swarm or wave
formations. There are 3 types of soldier. These are A) Control Units
(Telepath Sentient) B) Warrior Units (Sentient) and C) Assault
Drones (Sub-Sentient). Any force MUST CONTAIN at least one control
unit for every 2 squads of Sub-sentients. A Control Unit is ALWAYS an
Independent figure. He has 3 Actions that he may use to activate a
Sub-Sentient squad or give an extra action to a warrior unit. He does
not need to roll for communications if he has a Line of Sight to the
squad. He may use his other actions as he sees fit within the normal
parameters of the rules. Supression works on Warrior Units exactly as
per SGII rules. Assault Drones function differently. If they have no
Control Unit within 24", they revert to their natural behavior and
move in a straight line toward the nearest enemy unit and attempt to
close assault it. Assault Drones who have no Control unit to
activate them have One action per round and are immune to all
suppression and Morale rules. They may NEVER use cover and must
ALWAYS move toward the nearest enemy unit. Warrior Units function as
normal SGII squads with the following exceptions: they will NEVER
break if a command unit is within 24". If a command unit is within
LOS and within 12" of them and the command unit is then killed, the
unit goes Berserk for the next turn, and will move directly toward
the nearest enemy force in an attempt to close assault them EXACTLY
as if they were Assault Drones with the exception that they get TWO
actions. The following turn and any thereafter they are treated
exactly as a normal Squad. If a Control Unit passes an action to a
Warrior Unit, that unit must still use that extra action within the
normal unit parameters. (i.e. the unit may NOT fire the same weapons
twice) However, the unit could, say, use the actions thusly: 1)FIRE
2)MOVE 3)CLOSE ASSAULT. The close assault is actually a separate use
of the Biomech warrior's natural close killing abilities.
