I blush to admit it, but I have also purchased Epic 40K. Entirely
for
the figures and the terrain, though. I've given the rules a quick
glance or
two, but have not been particularly impressed.	I have, however, notived
a
variety of things lifted from DSII, such as the "Blast Markers" that
keep
units pinned down.... If/when I give a try, I'll post a review. Just
don't
hold your breath.
However, all the hype about E40K now being "Warhammer 40K with
Tanks" has given me at least one idea.	I've seen a lot of postings from
people who have been playing SGII with fifteens, due to a limited amount
of
gaming space. Has anyone ever tried playing the game with 1/300 or
1/285
scale figs? Now, I like 25s myself, but this does occur to me as a very
easy way to paint up a lot of figures and support with a minimal amount
of
time/effort. Admittedly, the idea of using individual based 1/300 scale
infantry is a little daunting, but probably solvable by just basing them
in
groups. The nice thing about E40K is the variety of infantry figures in
the
box, with heavy weapons, medics, scouts, officers, etc., all being
clearly
visible as such. On the other hand, obtaining them means dealing with
the
spawn of Satan, so take my review with a large chunk of salt. I don't
know
if I care for the idea myself, but then I've been spoiled by a big
gaming
table.	In any case, I just thought that I would mention the idea...
