Similar sort of issue with this game.

The Plasma bolts will resolve damage before direct fire is resolved,
including threshold checks.

If a plasma bolt destroys a ship, it will not fire in the direct fire phase.

If a plasma bolt knocks out a fire control or a weapon system, it will not
be active or fire during the combat phase.
