Perhaps you can have a toggle on a ship's status tab for "disable  
auto-allocate PDS" for people who really don't want the option. The  
most complex exceptions I can think of are the ADFC, which I made a  
suggestion about, and Scatterguns, which may need _individual_  
"disable auto-allocate" toggles so that an incoming target-switched  
fighter group doesn't trigger all a ship's scatterguns to fire upon it.

Laserlight, you're terribly right about the FTIII fighter rules, I  
think. They will be very hard to implement in FTJ, and if they are to  
be done right will almost certainly require a third turn phase.  
However, FTIII is not here yet, so we don't have to worry about it.
