You'd have to write down how many dice fired and what the result was. In a
FTF game, this doubles the length of the game.

Quick figures off the top of my head:
Class 1 (3 arc) graser is Mass 3, NPV 12. Average hits vs unscreened target
is 0.8 (including rerolls), damage per hit is 3.5, average damage is
therefore 2.85. Covers 180 degrees out to 18mu, or about 509 sq mu if I've
done the arithmetic right.
For the same points cost you could get 2 B2 (3), which do 3.2 damage on
average out to 12mu (226 sq mu) and 1.6 out to 24mu (an additional 679 sq
mu). I don't know how to value the area covered, but obviously if you have
the beams, he has the grasers, and you can keep him 19-24 mu away, then he
can't hit you and you win. Alternately, if you close to under 12mu, then you
still have an advantage. Being between 12 and 18 is not recommended.
