Full Thrust Java test list -- July 2005
Re: Game 700 Over
I believe this was initially a test of the mid-game FTL arrival of
reinforcements. I played it too, and hightaled it out as soon as the
first two ESU destroyers jumped in. The NAC would have been hard
pressed to survive _those_ odds (given the relative headings and
speeds), and prudence suggested dropping the primary objective to
preserve the CE's. I was already on an exit heading when teh second
pair jumped in, which only confirmed my opinion. I "failed" in the
primary objective (which was foreordained, given the circumstances of
the ambush), but the CE's escaped without any damage.
Two things I liked about the scenario were the element of surprise
and the fact that survival and escape was a reasonable minor victory
condition.
